The main function of the rigid coupling is the safe and backlash-free connection of two shafts by means of friction. This connection is mainly used to transmit torque. The coupling is simply pushed onto the shaft and fastened so it is frictionally engaged by tightening the screws in the shrink disc/locking assembly. They transfer torque and bending moments as well as axial and radial forces.
