Fans are used in copper ore processing facilities to exhaust hot air generated by equipment. Fans dealing with high temperature gases need to rotate continuously at low speed when turned off during cooling periods. When the fan's main drive stops, the overrunning clutch engages, secondary motor/gear reducer drivetrain that rotates the fan very slowly. This cooling period is necessary to reduce the temperature of the large squirrel cage fans and 4" diameter shafts, protecting them from sagging and warping damage due to their weight and exposure to elevated temperatures.
The overrunning clutch will automatically disengage the low-speed drive when the main high-speed motor starts, preventing possible damage to the low-speed drive.
The premium quality NMTG locking assembly has been field tested as an ideal shaft-hub connection between the drive shaft and the drum pulley, especially head pulley or tail pulleys.

Keyless Locking assembly applied to connect rotor shafts and crushing rolls of impact crushers used for grinding crushed rock material are for example exposed to high stresses in the form of bending torque and radial run-out.

Keyless Transmission Elements can also be found in various locations of mechanical drive systems. Keyless locking assemblies are frequently used to mount high speed coupling hubs between motors and reducers. Shrink discs and Keyless Rigid Couplings are mount large high horsepower gearbox on alignment free drives.
Our Keyless Locking Assemblies are used in clevis pin retention and to mount brake rotors in excavators and dragline shovels. They allow simplified installation and removal and eliminate issues due to wallowing of keyway connections.

NMTG Freewheel one-way clutch / Backstop Device / Holdback Device are designed to transmit torque in one direction, and overrunning (Freewheeling) in opposite direction.

Bucket Elevators are designed to move materials vertically. They are attached to belt/chain with Pulleys or Sprockets located at the top & bottom of the unit. Bulk materials are loaded into each bucket at Inlet point and are emptied into the discharge throat & then sent back down to continue the cycle.
Continues flow of Materials is necessary in Bucket Elevators. So, NMTG provides Reliable & Cost-effective solution in Bucket Elevators.
NMTG External Holdback with different types of mounting arrangement are used to prevent Reverse rotation of Bucket Elevator to protect Drive system. This type of Freewheel one way clutch is without bearing type, so external bearing support must be required for Axial & Radial Loads.
