Conventional methods used to mount mechanical power transmission components in steel mills involve the use of gears and keyways. Over time these key connections begin to deteriorate causing components to become out of sync, resulting in maintenance issues and downtime resulting in impacting mill production and profitability.
Using the N7515 or N7016.1 keyless locking assembly eliminates corrosion and subsequent wear on keyed connections while providing the required torque capacity as well as the desired safety factor.

NMTG Shrink Discs (External Clamping Devices) provide steel mills a cost-effective and maintenance-friendly alternative to traditional mounting methods for gearbox applications.
Gearboxes driving mills in the steel industry are usually connected to motors using large gear couplings. The traditional mounting method for these couplings is a heavy interference fit that requires expensive close tolerance machining, hot hubs, and the use of a press or puller for installation and removal. As a result, hot hub seals can lead to damage and premature bearing failure. When bearing maintenance is required, removing and reinstalling this coupling is labor intensive and expensive.
The use of NMTG Shrink Discs for mounting couplings provides an excellent alternative to the traditional press fit method. Shrink disc provide high torque, bending, and axial thrust capacities, eliminate axial movement during installation, and eliminate notch factors associated with keyways.
As a replacement of simple lock nut. used for high pressure locking & increase clamping uniformly.
